"I began using the mats in June 2005 and have made my first move after 17 days. I am very pleased with the results and anticipate continued benefits over the coming years. I have spoken to the manager/operator of the Cazenovia Lake weed harvester who has observed success of the mats in the lake and encouraged my using them. The manager/operator felt he could concentrate on areas beyond the dock if I could take care of (be responsible for) my dock and shore area. Thank you.

"We operate a very successful, upscale Bed and Breakfast on Conesus Lake. An important element of our success has always been our location on the Lake, and its attendant opportunity for lake recreational activities by our guests. Along with fishing, boating, etc., our guest rightfully expect to swim from our dock.

In recent years the ever-greater profusion of lake weeds around our dock has presented a growing problem, requiring a virtually full-time effort to keep the area clear.

In the summer of 2003 we turned to Seaweed Mat Systems - and discovered our answer! We've found that they really solve the problem around our dock.

We can easily keep the area clear of weeks with only occasional effort. We move them every two to three weeks, and the mats take care of the problem. While it helps to have two people involved in the process, the mats can be relocated by one person without assistance.

Another advantage has been, we believe, the suppression of both zebra mussels and silt in the area. The water stays cleaner, and the mussels don't seem to like to grow on top of the mats (which makes it easier on our feet).

Finally, we have to acknowledge the excellent service we received, both in the initial installation, and on the one occasion when we asked their help in relocating the mats."

"Dear Jim,

Last year, we purchased six weed mats from you and I would like to purchase two more mats for this year. The performance of the mats was outstanding and has literally saved the lake for us. The following summarizes our experience and also that of our neighbors who also purchased mats:

• We left them in place for one week and they completely killed the weeds. The weeds did not return last summer. It would take my wife and I approximately one-half hour to move the mats each week. In several weeks, we cleared out a large area for swimming and fishing.
• For the first time in many years, we were able to swim every day of the summer and the water was significantly cleaner. Without the milfoil weed around the dock, we didn't have nearly as much of the "green slime" algae that seems to emanate from the milfoil.
• The mats also compacted the earthen bottom so that the water around the dock was much clearer even on the weekends. I love to fly fish for the pan fish and bass. For many years the water had been so dirty that the fish either departed the area or couldn't even see the fly. I was able to enjoy fishing from my dock every evening and the fish could easily be seen swimming around like it used to be in the 1960's and 70's.
• One added benefit that I believe resulted from the mats was that we did not have nearly as many zebra mussels and could swim without wearing water shoes. I think that the mats really helped to kill off the mussel growth around the dock.

In summary, the mats are just a great invention. We had tried cutting, etc. and had just about given up and through that we might be leaving the lake. With the mats, we can now enjoy the lake again."
